2020 Subscriptions and Winter Vol. 1 / GIFTS Launch
It's hard to believe that we're already nearing the end of 2019. This has been a big year for us here at Making; we added a new team member in the spring, Emily, our blogger, sewist, and content creator. We've also been working hard to examine the content we produce and to continue growing in our mission to support diversity in the making community; FOREST was progress for us and an issue we're very proud of. Additionally, we're taking steps forward in our sustainability practices. Many of the projects within the pages of Making are inspired by the natural world, and we believe it's essential to care for the precious planet we call home. If you're interested in learning more, you can read about our efforts in sustainability here, Making Change / Sustainability. We're excited for more growth in 2020.
Speaking of 2020, we're delighted to announce that subscriptions for this next year are now open! Our two issues for 2020 are No. 9 / SIMPLE (Spring) and No. 10 / INTRICATE (Fall). We're getting ready to wrap up SIMPLE and send it to print early next year, we're so excited for the issue to come out in the spring.
In addition to open subscriptions for 2020, we're thrilled to announce the launch of a project we've been working very hard on in preparation for the upcoming holiday season, a new publication we've created, Winter Vol. 1 / GIFTS. GIFTS is an annual digital issue focussed on creating small projects with the intention of gift-giving. As makers, we believe there is a unique joy that's found in making handmade gifts, which is why we wanted to create a special issue centered on the topic. Whether these projects are made as gifts for yourself or others, we hope you'll be inspired by what you find within this first volume, Winter Vol. 1 / GIFTS.
GIFTS is included in the 2020 subscription (which is now expanded to include both the spring and fall issues, as well as the new digital issue of GIFTS), and is available for immediate download upon purchase. GIFTS is also available for individual sale for those who purchase their Making print issues through their LYS, find it HERE.
Happy making!
